Our Story

Our History

Opened in 1930 during the Great Depression, Tiny Jewel Box began its illustrious history as an antique jewelry store owned by Monte and Roz Rosenheim, in a 100 square foot storefront on G Street. The store has passed through three generations of Rosenheims and is currently owned by Jim Rosenheim and his son, Matthew, who have overseen its rich heritage as Washington's premier jeweler for over 80 years.

Tiny Jewel Box is now located in a historic building on Connecticut Avenue which was once a flagship Elizabeth Arden salon. Built in 1926, the building is on the National Register of Historic Places, and became the home to Tiny Jewel Box in 1992.

Our focus on what's next, new, and one-of-a-kind has been a driving force throughout our history. Tiny Jewel Box was amongst the first in the United States to feature David Yurman, Anya Hindmarch, Lulu Guinness, Alex Sepkus and Stephen Webster when they were still virtually unknown. In addition to designer jewelry and watches, Tiny Jewel Box features Washington's largest collection of vintage engagement rings and jewelry, custom creations, and an entire floor dedicated to its thriving corporate gifting business.
